SEN Teacher

Location:Marlow, Buckinghamshire

Salary:£33,075-£50,471 (Depending on experience)

Contract:Full-time, Long-Term

Start Date:September

We are looking for a committed and experienced Specail Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join a supportive school community in Marlow. In this vital role, you will help to cultivate an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment where students with a range of needs can thrive. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and families to design and deliver tailored learning experiences that meet the individual needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s specific needs, ensuring goals are realistic, measurable, and progress-oriented
  • Deliver engaging lessons using diverse teaching strategies that cater to a wide range of learning styles and abilities
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, specialists, and support staff to create a cohesive and nurturing learning environment
  • Continuously assess student progress, adapting instructional approaches to meet evolving needs and maximise learning outcomes
  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents and carers, offering updates on progress and working together on effective support strategies
  • Foster an inclusive classroom culture, promoting empathy, respect, and meaningful peer interactions among all students
  • Keep up to date with current research and best practices in special education, actively participating in training, workshops, and professional development
  • Apply positive behaviour management techniques to support emotional regulation and create a respectful, well-structured classroom atmosphere

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field (Master’s degree desirable), along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Recognised teaching certification in Special Education
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with special educational needs across a range of settings
  • In-depth knowledge of learning disabilities, developmental disorders, and effective intervention strategies
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, families, and colleagues
