Are you a passionate, dedicated, and innovative teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the founding team of a new satellite educational provision in the London Borough of Merton, opening in September 2025. This specialist centre will initially cater for 40 pupils with a range of moderate to severe learning difficulties and complex needs, including Speech Language and Communication Needs, and potentially Autism Spectrum Conditions and other associated needs. The provision is planned to grow, potentially accommodating up to 80 children over a three-year period.

This new centre is a satellite site linked to an established outstanding school. Furthermore, the Department for Education has given approval for the Trust to open a brand new purpose-built Free School in Merton. It is envisioned that pupils and staff from this satellite site will transition to the new Free School upon its completion, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of specialist education in the area.

We are seeking creative and adaptable Class Teachers to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that support our pupils' academic, social, and emotional development. You will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our students in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the diverse individual learning needs of pupils.
  • Foster an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and development.
  • Work collaboratively with therapists, support staff, families, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to student well-being and progress.
  • Utilise appropriate and effective communication methods to support learning and interaction.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as required.
  • Ensure the well-being, health, and safety of all pupils at all times.

Key Requirements:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • A creative, adaptable, and passionate approach to education and supporting pupils with complex needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Rewards & Benefits:

We offer a comprehensive rewards and benefits package, including:

  • Competitive salary with SEN allowance.
  • Enhanced parental leave schemes.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Season ticket loans.
  • Employee referral scheme.
  • Membership to Discounts for Teachers.
  • Discounted gym membership subscription, including digital fitness options.
  • Commitment to comprehensive training and continuous professional development.
  • Access to confidential counselling, advice, and support via Health Assured.
  • A strong commitment to staff wellbeing, supported by our occupational health service and mental-health first aiders.
  • Excellent scope for career progression across our Trust, which includes eight college centres, 14 academy schools, and a shared services team.
  • Choice of generous pension schemes: the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) or Teachers Pension Scheme (TPS), both offering life cover and financial protection for your family.
