Job description

Role - SEN Teacher

Location - Sefton

Start date - September 2025

CER Education is currently recruiting an SEN Teacher for a specialist SEN School in Liverpool. The school provides both care and education services to children and young people with moderate to severe learning difficulties aged 8-19 years old.

The school is looking to recruit a qualified teacher who has previous experience working with children with moderate to severe learning difficulties or has experience working within an early years/primary setting.

The role is to start in September 2025 and will continue until at least April 2026, with the potential for a contract extension. ECTs are encouraged to apply.

You will be:

• An active participant in the school team and community
• Leading by example, holding and articulating clear values and moral purpose, and focusing on providing excellent education for all pupils
• Undertaking the normal responsibilities of a class teacher
• Responsible for the standards and curriculum of all pupils, including monitoring progress towards achievement

Relevant Skills and Experience:

• A relevant degree-level teaching qualification and/or experience in a school
• Holding QTS and experience in SEN
• Experience working in a SEN school with children who have learning difficulties and can display severe challenging behaviour is desirable
• Experience of Ofsted and other regulatory body inspections
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one
