Our department is actively seeking Children Learning Disability Teacher to work within an award-winning school located in Chorley . The service is a bespoke specialist service for people who are aged from 6 -19 with autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex needs. You will be assisting the students through their educational journey.

Location:Chorley, Lancashire

Job Type: Full time Monday to Friday

Pay: Up to £45k a year

About the Role:

As a Qualified Teacher you will have a proven outstanding teaching ability, to manage, lead and deliver curriculum within a classroomenvironment. The role will work within the diverse demands of the school whilst developing its recognised strengths and attributes.

Key Requirements:

  • An excellent understanding of the approach to teaching, the theory and practice of learning and how this is influenced withina classroom environment

Duties will include:

  • To carry out the professional duties covered by the latest School Teacher'sPay and Conditions Document.
  • The post holder will be expected to undertake duties in line with the professional standards for qualified teachers and upholdthe professional code of the General Teaching Council for England.
  • Teach a class of young people, and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet their varyinglearning and social needs.
  • Have significant experience of using recognised and appropriate teaching strategies for our students who have Special EducationalNeeds (SEN).
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to all stakeholders including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Governors (as required) and parents / carers.
  • Keep accurate up to date records of assessments of learning and progress of each student.
  • Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work cohesively with key workers and the in-house therapeutic team to follow care plans and assist in creating educationalschemes of work.
  • Provide the highest standards of professional practice and safeguarding
