Responsibilities
  • Create and teach tailored lessons to meet the needs of SEN students, following the national curriculum.
  • Apply innovative and flexible teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Create a calm, respectful, and inclusive space where every student feels safe and supported.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, creating individual education plans (IEPs) when necessary.
  • Work closely with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic support.
  • Encourage independence, resilience, and self-confidence in students.

Requirements
  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs in Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key stage 2 (KS2).
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable teaching approach.
  • Ability to manage behaviour positively and proactively.
  • An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
  • Two recent professional references from educational environments.
