SEN Teacher - Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm

The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join a highly regarded specialist school near Watford this September. This full-time, permanent role is ideal for someone committed to supporting students with autism and related needs, including speech, language, sensory, and behavioural challenges.

You'll work in a calm, structured environment with small class sizes and excellent staff-to-student ratios. The school values a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, providing personalised learning pathways to help every pupil thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored lessons for pupils with complex needs, primarily autism

  • Use structured routines and visual supports to aid learning and communication

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide consistent, wraparound support

  • Track pupil progress in line with EHCP goals and individual targets

  • Implement evidence-based strategies to support emotional regulation and independence

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment

  • Engage in CPD and contribute to the school's ongoing development

About You:

  • QTS/QTLS or equivalent qualification

  • Proven experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally in specialist settings

  • Strong knowledge of autism and associated needs

  • Calm, patient, and empathetic teaching style

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
