Job description

How would you like to be paid for five days but only work four?

Our colleagues' wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at OFG, so we're always looking for new ways to improve everyone's work/life balance. We're participating in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, which means you could work one day less per week (or equivalent).

If the trial is successful, we will implement the 4DWW across the Group — making this an exciting time to join us!

Job Title: SEN Teacher

Location: Underley Garden School, Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2DZ

Salary: Up to GBP41,000.00 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Start: September 2025

UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.

About the Role

As a dynamic and motivated qualified teacher, you will have a passion for making a difference in the lives of pupils. You will respond to the needs of individuals with autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs, helping them flourish and thrive.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, developing innovative methods that stimulate interest and excitement in the classroom. Working with us allows you to work creatively, utilizing extensive resources and expert support.

You will observe, monitor, and assess our students, ensuring their personal development and wellbeing are prioritized alongside academic progress.

Who we are looking for

You will be a passionate teacher and a great communicator, comfortable engaging with pupils with autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs, as well as contributing to the school's vision and direction.

Our schools are unique environments with their own atmosphere, opportunities, and resources. Our teachers enjoy becoming part of their school's 'family', exploring the environment and getting to know our pupils.

You will enjoy building caring relationships and liaising with professionals, whether colleagues within the school or those from previous educational establishments.
