Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Edgware, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring, patient and resilient TA who is passionate about working with children with SEND and wants to make a genuine difference to their learning, development and independence.

You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide individualised support for

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with SEN in a school setting.
• Experience with Autism or complex learning needs is desirable.
• Experience across SEN provisions (special school, ARP, or mainstream) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support pupils with autism and complex learning needs and help develop communication and social skills.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour in line with EHCP targets.
• Encourage independence and life skills and help pupils engage with classroom activities.
• Create a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment and collaborate with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
