Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment Ltd. in Lancashire-Chorley area is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated school team. The role runs ASAP through July 2027, supporting pupils with diverse needs such as ASC, PMLD, and SEMH in a safe and inclusive environment.

You will provide 1-to-1 and small group support, help track EHCP targets, and promote positive behaviour to foster confidence and independence. A current Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service is required or a plan to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an SEN TA, Support Worker, or Care Worker, ideally with SEN.
• Calm, patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Availability to commit to full-time, Mon-Fri, school hours, ASAP through July 2027.
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply via Tradewind Update Service).

Responsibilities

• 1-to-1 and small group support for daily learning tasks and therapies.
• Support for students with ASC, PMLD, and SEMH, including personal care and emotional wellbeing.
• Help implement EHCP targets and monitor student progression.
• Promote positive behaviour and use proactive strategies to support regulation.
