Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant & Administrator to join an Alternative Provision in Sandwell. This is a full-time hybrid role to start ASAP that combines supporting pupils in the classroom with key administrative and reception duties.

Responsibilities
  • Provide in-class support to students, particularly those with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges.
  • Build positive relationships and encourage engagement in learning.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support strategies.
  • Manage reception duties, being the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and professionals.
  • Carry out general administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and use of Microsoft Office packages.
About You / Qualifications
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH / behavioural difficulties is highly desirable.
  • Previous work in an Alternative Provision or similar setting is an advantage.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other admin systems.
  • Experience working on reception, handling calls, and liaising with visitors is essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to balance both classroom and office responsibilities.
  • A calm, resilient, and positive attitude when supporting challenging behaviour.
