Job summary

An educational recruitment agency is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with Year 3 pupils at a primary school in Harrow. This full-time position focuses on providing targeted support for children with special educational needs, creating an inclusive environment, and working closely with teaching staff. Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH or similar).
  • Proven ability to manage behaviour effectively.

SEN Learning Support Assistant - Year 3

Location: Harrow, West London

Contract: Full-time, long-term (term-time only)

Are you a compassionate, patient and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are recruiting for an experienced LSA to support Year 3 pupils with additional learning needs at a welcoming primary school in HA2.

About the Role

We are seeking an SEN LSA to work closely with Year 3 pupils who require extra support with their learning, social development and emotional regulation. You will be working both 1:1 and in small groups, helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing personalised learning plans
  • Support pupils with communication, engagement and behaviour
  • Help create a positive, safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Liaise with teaching staff, SENCO and wider support teams as needed
Requirements
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH or similar)
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • A proactive, calm and patient approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
