Overview

Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant

Salary/Rate: £92 per day

Exclusive Education are looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to work in EYFS at a school in with pupils who have Autism. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is for 5 days per week and is to start asap.

You will be working with an experienced team of education specialists whose sole focus is on the Special Educational Needs sector.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Autism in EYFS, implementing strategies to assist learning and development
• Assist class teachers with daily activities, behaviour management, and facilitating inclusive practice

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3) (desirable)
• Eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
• Have previous experience of working with children (preferably within the last 2 years)
• Excellent knowledge of the full curriculum and assessment frameworks
• Previous EYFS, KS1 experience
• Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
• Two references working with children
• Hold a current DBS that is registered with the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one

Desirable Training

• Understanding and training in PECs, Teach or Team Teach
