A leading academy in Newham is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs. This full-time role offers the chance to work alongside dedicated professionals to enhance learning experiences for pupils unable to adapt to mainstream classrooms. Candidates must have relevant experience and hold a valid DBS certificate.

Qualifications

• Valid and enhanced child and adult DBS certificate required.
• Two professional child related references required.
• Experience with children aged 2 to 19 years old preferred.

• Support the class teacher.
• Provide 1:1 time with students.
• Assist with personal care.
• Maintain focus and discipline in the classroom.

Duration: Monday - Friday (Full-Time)

Description:
Prospero teaching is currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted Outstanding academy which require specialist support for certain pupils who are unable to adapt to the mainstream classroom.

The successful applicants will have:
Experience working with ASD, SLD and PMLD
Ability to work with challenging behavior
Previous experience working between the ages of 2 to 19 years old
Valid and enhanced child and adult DBS

The role consists of:
Supporting the class teacher
1:1 time with students
Personal care
Keeping a level of focus and discipline to match the ages and abilities of the students in the classroom
Building good student - teacher rapport.
