Job summary

Qteg is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs in Enfield. You will work alongside the class teacher, supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, adapting activities to each child’s needs.

You will help pupils engage in lessons, develop communication skills, and build independence, while supporting emotional wellbeing using positive behaviour strategies. Experience with PECS or Makaton is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with special educational needs.
• Experience in a specialist SEN school is preferred.
• Ability to adapt activities to individual needs.
• Experience with PECS or Makaton would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to engage in lessons.

The Role

I am recruiting for a SEN TA to support children in a specialist SEN school in Enfield. You will work alongside the class teacher, supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, adapting activities to their individual needs and abilities.

As a SEN TA, you will help pupils engage in lessons, develop their communication skills and build independence. You will also support their emotional wellbeing and use positive behaviour strategies to help them feel settled and ready to learn. Experience using PECS or Makaton would be beneficial, although not essential.
