A support care provider in London is seeking a part-time SEN Support Worker to assist a cheerful young man with severe learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will help with personal care, engage in educational and recreational activities, and promote independence. This rewarding role requires experience with special needs, a calm nature, and enthusiasm for supporting a young person’s development.
SEN Support Worker in Chiswick, W4. A part-time opportunity for a SEN Support Worker to support a cheerful young man aged 18 with severe learning difficulties. Salary: £30,420.00 Gross Per Annum | £19.50 gross per hour.
Zed is a vibrant and sunny-natured teenager with a variety of interests and needs. He enjoys watching TV and films (especially musicals and theatre), reading Mr. Men books, and playing accessible games on his iPad or phone. He loves outdoor activities, swimming, and spending time with his family’s pets. Zed has Coffin-Lowry Syndrome, moderate to severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, ADHD, dyspraxia, and presents similarly to Down Syndrome. While verbal, his expressive language can be inconsistent. He uses a wheelchair for longer distances and a walker at school; he can walk short distances at home with support. He needs help with dressing, personal care (toileting, handwashing, hygiene) and staying safe to prevent falls, but he remains eager to stay independent.
This is a part-time support role with Zed, who splits his time between his mum’s home in Chiswick and his dad’s home in Mortlake, alternating weekly. Responsibilities include:

An interest in music, drama, outdoor activities and creative play is a bonus. The candidate should be positive, flexible, and genuinely interested in supporting Zed’s development and growing independence.
