ASAP START DATE

At GSL Education, we are supporting an SEND school in Bodmin that is seeking Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join their team on a full-time basis.

The school offers a personalised wrap-around education for students with complex needs or EHCP pupils at risk of residential placements.

Each child receives high levels of support, often including one-to-one assistance and bespoke timetables based on thematic learning experiences. The curriculum is tailored to engage students, build resilience, and promote rapid academic progress.

Note: The school has multiple settings, and we are seeking candidates willing to work across KS1-4.

These roles are demanding; children may exhibit challenging behaviour, so resilience and commitment are essential.

Having a UK driving license is necessary for this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Guide students as a Learning Mentor, providing personalised guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop support plans.
  • Foster a nurturing environment that promotes social interaction and communication skills.
  • Assist with daily tasks, academic activities, and implement interventions to address behaviour challenges and encourage positive outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Availability to start ASAP on a full-time basis.
  • Effective communication skills for clear interactions.
  • Patience, empathy, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Dedication to student success.
Why Choose GSL Education?
  • Supporting educators nationwide across the UK as a respected independent recruitment agency.
  • Competitive pay rates tailored to candidates.
  • Personalized services with dedicated consultants to help secure your ideal role.
  • Flexible work-life balance options.
  • High standards of quality and safeguarding are upheld.

If you are dedicated and qualified for this opportunity and ready to contribute to inclusive education, please apply and submit your CV.

To work with GSL Education, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.

We offer competitive pay rates, bespoke services, and dedicated support to help you find your new role. Whether starting your career or seeking a better work-life balance, we are here to support you. Our experienced recruiters have helped many candidates gain relevant experience and training to become Support Staff, NQTs, QTs, Psychologists, and senior leaders.

This role requires strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection or willingness to undertake safeguarding training. Successful applicants must pass all background checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.

For more information, please contact Gen Currie at GSL Education. CVs should be sent to: Genevieve.currie@gsleducation.co.uk
