Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic graduates to work as SEN Support Practitioners in specialist schools and other settings across the UK. If you have a background in music, performing arts, drama, dance, sports or creative arts, you can help pupils aged 4-19 develop life and communication skills through engaging activities.

You do not need QTS or prior teaching experience; your creativity, resilience and passion for working with children matter most.

Qualifications

Degree or qualification in Music, Performing Arts, Sport, Creative Arts or a related field.
Strong passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
Patience, empathy and emotional resilience.
Creative thinking and the confidence to use personal skills to engage pupils.

Responsibilities

Creative Learning: use music, drama, dance, sport and other activities to engage pupils.
Life Skills: help pupils develop independence and practical skills.
Social Skills: support pupils to develop friendships and teamwork.
Emotional Regulation: aid pupils in recognising and managing emotions through creative activities.
Sensory Support: plan and deliver sensory-based activities and movement sessions.
Music & Performing Arts: use rhythm, singing and role play to develop communication and wellbeing.
Sport & Physical Activity: use games and movement to develop physical skills and regulation.
Building Relationships: develop positive relationships with pupils.
