Are you a passionate graduate, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker or Behaviour Support Worker looking to work with children that really need you?

You don't necessarily need to have school-based experience, sports graduates, sports coaches, youth workers and care workers are also welcome to apply also. We are seeking passionate individuals that have a desire for supporting children with challenging behaviour and SEN.

About the Role

The role of a 1:1 SEN Support involves working in mainstream Primary schools, often in a dedicated SEN provision to provide tailored support for pupils with a diverse range of special educational needs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience supporting individuals with special educational needs (in either adult or child settings)
  • Recognised qualification in education, behaviour support, care, residential or Social Work sectors
  • Confident designing and adapting individualised behaviour and learning support plans
  • Experience working with adults or children with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, or learning disabilities
  • The ability to maintain a calm composure to ensure a proactive approach to high pressure and emotionally demanding situations
  • Full UK driving licence or ability to access public transport
  • Enhanced Child’s DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement proactive learning support plans, working 1:1 or leading small group sessions
  • Support classroom engagement and facilitate inclusive learning experiences
  • Implement behaviour management strategies, particularly in challenging situations
  • Provide consistent support to pupils, assisting with emotional regulation and independence
  • Communicate with staff, parents and external professionals to ensure consistent supportive care and development
  • A structured, team-oriented school environment to apply care sector experience to
  • Working school hours, with weekends and holidays off
  • Opportunities for career progression and further training
  • Making a long-term difference in a child’s educational journey
