Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting for a vibrant, highly respected special school for primary-aged pupils with complex learning needs. The role is term-time with a long-term/fixed-term contract and hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will assist pupils academically, socially, and emotionally, under the guidance of experienced teachers. No prior SEN experience is required, but a patient, empathetic attitude and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Patient, compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help young people succeed.
• Clear communication skills and a strong commitment to child safeguarding.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a SEN environment.
• Experience in care or educational settings is a plus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally alongside experienced teachers.
• Build relationships with children with autism, physical, sensory, or complex needs.
• Help bring personalised education plans to life and encourage positive behaviour.
• Support pupils with communication tools (Makaton/PECS) and mobility or personal care where required.
