Hays Leicester is looking for a School Sports Coach with experience delivering PE lessons and/or sports coaching sessions for young people with Special Educational Needs. We work with schools across Leicester and Leicestershire who support pupils with arange of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. If you have experience working with vulnerable children and a background in Sports Coaching - we want to hear from you!
Your new school
In your new job as a School Sports Coach, you'll have the opportunity to teach in schools across Leicester and Leicestershire. The schools we support offer pupils with additional needs unique opportunities to access education outside of mainstream settings including equine therapy, hydro-therapy and sensory classes.
Your new job
As a School Sports Coach, you'll deliver PE coaching to pupils with additional needs including challenging behaviour and learning disabilities. You'll use sports as a tool to engage with vulnerable young people, teach soft skills like communication and develop pupils' self-esteem. You'll view sports as a tool which works alongside a wider curriculum to provide a holistic education for disadvantaged pupils.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be an experienced Sports Coach who has worked with vulnerable young people. You need to have a good knowledge to Special Educational Needs and Neurodivergence in children and young people. You'll take pride in being a role model for young people and be passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
