Create Education is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Dagenham, supporting Year 10 pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs. This full-time, ongoing role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people develop communication skills, confidence and independence.

You will support multiple Year 10 pupils with SLCN in a classroom setting, ensuring they can access learning and participate fully in lessons.

Formación

• Experience as SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
• Experience supporting children with speech, language and communication difficulties is desirable.
• Understanding of autism, SLCN and related needs.
• Experience with secondary-aged pupils is advantageous.
• Background in Speech and Language, Linguistics, Psychology, Education or a related field.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach with strong communication skills.
• Confidence supporting pupils with varying needs within a classroom.

Responsabilidades

• Support Year 10 pupils with speech, language and communication needs within the classroom.
• Help pupils understand instructions, process information and communicate effectively.
• Break down learning tasks into manageable steps to support understanding and engagement.
• Provide individual and small-group support where required.
• Use appropriate communication strategies, including visual aids and simplified language.
• Work closely with teachers and the school's SEND team to support pupils' learning needs.
• Encourage confidence, positive engagement and independent learning.
