Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers to transform the lives of disengaged, at-risk and vulnerable learners in the UK. You will deliver Maths, English or Science tuition with a trauma-informed approach, either in person, online, or hybrid.

We offer flexible hours from part-time up to full-time, competitive pay £28–£35 per hour, CPD and mentoring, a supportive SEND team, and a mission-driven community focused on making a real difference for young people with SEND and SEMH needs.

Qualifications

• This role requires 2+ years of teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH.
• QTS or QTLS certification is required or in progress.
• Enhanced DBS and two professional references are needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide Maths, English or Science tuition in person, online or hybrid.
• Support pupils with SEMH and SEND needs across KS1–KS5 as appropriate.
• Plan lessons and report progress with regular feedback.
• Deliver trauma-informed tutoring in a safe learning environment.

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
