Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers to support learners with SEMH and SEND needs across the UK. The role offers flexible, in-person, hybrid, and remote teaching: plan, deliver, and report on progress for diverse pupils in a trauma-informed setting.

This self-employed position requires QTS/QTLS, DBS, and the ability to work flexibly to meet student needs; competitive pay ranges from £28 to £35 per hour as part of a supportive, compassionate team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience with SEND/SEMH experience preferred.
• QTS or QTLS required.
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ references preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition in person, online, or hybrid across KS1–KS5.
• Plan and report lessons and provide regular feedback on progress.
• Support and mentor learners with SEMH and SEND needs in a trauma-informed way.

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
