Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors forYoung People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needsrequired in Surrey.

Multiple positions are available andhiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.

We are on a mission to transform the quality of education providedto young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (SpecialEducation Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMHneeds (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasinglysupporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate LearningDifficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

We arelooking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transformingthe lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Surrey.

At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard ofeducational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. Wekeep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughoutevery placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.

This role is perfect for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who areeager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with avariety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, andtrauma-informed manner, to raise their engagement and drasticallyimprove the outlook of their educational journey.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role:
  • This role willinvolve providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young peoplewith Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social,Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate and Severe LearningDifficulties (MLD / SLD), or other Additional Educational Needsreferred to Targeted Provision
  • These young people arereferred to us by local authorities and schools and will require somelevel of support in their educational and social-emotional journey
  • If selected, your role will be to provide this support viaflexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities:
  • Planning each session of teaching / tutoring / mentoring
  • Providing the young person with holistic and engagingsessions which meet their needs and advance their educational andsocial-emotional journey
  • Completing lesson reports andproviding feedback on the young person's progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements:
  • ProfessionalTeaching Qualifications (Qualified Teacher Status / QTS / QTLS)
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience
  • Experience workingwith young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and / or other AdditionalEducational Needs
  • Experience, knowledge and understanding ofsafeguarding processes
  • Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain thisat cost if needed)
  • Two professional references
  • Youmust be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even forremote / online assignments

It is a strict requirementthat you have the ability to work in a way that promotes the health,safety and wellbeing of children and young people and followsafeguarding policies and procedures at all times.

SEN /SEND Tutor employment status:
  • This positioninvolves engaging with us as a Worker, to provide short-termengagements as and when they arise
  • You will work through acontract for service and will be paid via PAYE
  • We do notoffer any set amount of work nor expenses coverage
  • Ourinsurance covers the work you do for us
  • This is not aself-employed tutoring / self-employed teaching position
