Job summary

Targeted Provision seeks SEND Tutors and Teachers in the UK to support young people with SEND and SEMH needs. Roles include Maths, English or Science tutoring with in-person, hybrid, or remote options, offered on a self-employed basis to fit your schedule.

You’ll work with local authorities and schools, plan lessons, monitor progress, and deliver trauma-informed tutoring to vulnerable learners. Flexible hours, supportive team, and opportunities for professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH in trauma-informed settings.
• Familiarity with teaching Maths, English and/or Science.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) is required.
• Eligibility to work in the UK with enhanced DBS or clearance process.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, online or hybrid Maths, English or Science tutoring to SEND/Special Education needs students.
• Plan lessons and report progress to parents or local authorities as appropriate.
• Deliver trauma-informed tutoring to vulnerable learners while maintaining safeguarding practices.
• Participate in CPD and mentoring sessions and contribute to a supportive tutoring team.

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
