About the Role

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Isle of Wight.

Multiple positions are available, with ongoing recruitment to meet diverse needs. We aim to transform education for young people with SEN/SEND, SEMH, MLD, and SLD, supporting their educational and social-emotional development.

Role Responsibilities
  • Providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other needs
  • Supporting children referred by local authorities and schools
  • Delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Key Tasks
  • Planning engaging and needs-based sessions
  • Completing lesson reports and providing progress feedback
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience
  • Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or similar
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies
  • Enhanced DBS (support available for application)
  • Two professional references
  • Right to work in the UK
Employment Details
  • Engagement as a Worker on a short-term basis
  • Paid via PAYE, no set hours or expenses covered
  • Insurance provided, not self-employed
