Job summary

Targeted Provision in the United Kingdom is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers to transform the lives of disengaged and vulnerable learners with SEMH and SEND needs. You will deliver in-person, hybrid, and remote tuition across KS1–KS5, in collaboration with local authorities and schools, on a self-employed basis.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed practice, flexibility, and a child-centred approach to reimagine support for young people.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience with SEND/SEMH
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) required or in process
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ references preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, online, and hybrid tuition for Maths, English or Science to KS1–KS5 students with SEND/SEMH needs
• Plan and report lessons and track student progress
• Deliver trauma-informed tutoring in a child-centred, flexible manner
• Support and mentor learners to raise educational outcomes

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
