Job summary

Targeted Provision in the United Kingdom is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers to support disengaged, at-risk and vulnerable learners with SEMH, MLD, SLD and other needs. Roles are self-employed and offer flexible teaching options across in-person, hybrid, and remote formats.

Ideal candidates hold QTS/QTLS, have 2+ years of teaching experience, and a genuine passion for transforming lives. Competitive hourly pay and CPD mentoring are provided to support your professional journey.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years teaching experience, ideally with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way.
  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science.
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS).
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.
  • Location: Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, including remote roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in person, online/remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs.
  • Support pupils ranging KS1–KS5 with trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring.
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress.
  • Contribute to raising the standard of education for young people with SEND and SEMH needs.

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities
  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
