Job summary

Overview

SEN / SEND Tutor, Cheshire role at TieTalent. Core subject tutoring (Maths, English, or Science) for young people with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs in Cheshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet a wide variety of needs.


We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN / SEND, and to support children and young people with SEMH, MLD, and SLD. This role is suited to qualified SEN / SEND tutors who prefer 1:1 tutoring in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed approach to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.


We offer a team around the child, with support from our SEN / SEND Support Specialists throughout each placement.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role


  • Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Needs referred to Targeted Provision

  • Support young people referred by local authorities and schools with educational and social-emotional needs

  • Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring



SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities


  • Plan each teaching / tutoring / mentoring session

  • Deliver holistic, engaging sessions meeting individual needs and supporting educational and social-emotional development

  • Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress



SEN / SEND Tutor requirements


  • Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)

  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience

  • Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs

  • Understanding of safeguarding processes

  • Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)

  • Two professional references

  • You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, including for remote work

SEN / SEND Tutor employment status


  • Engagement as a Worker for short-term opportunities as they arise

  • Contract for service with PAYE payment

  • No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage

  • Our insurance covers your work for us

  • This is not a self-employed position
