SEN Teaching Assistant - Northallerton

Location: Northallerton

Salary: £96-£110 per day

Contract: Full time

Start Date: ASAP

Are you a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a supportive school environment? We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN TA to work with one of our schools to support students with special educational needs (SEN) in both Primary/Secondary schools across Northallerton.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other additional needs
  • Assist the teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support students with emotional regulation, social skills, and communication
  • Use a range of strategies and interventions to meet individual needs
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
Qualifications
  • Experience working with children with SEN (school-based or other relevant settings)
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Team Teach, or equivalent - desirable but not essential
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
