Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking enthusiastic SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils across specialist and mainstream settings. Flexible hours offer opportunities to work around commitments and gain diverse experience in SEN and SEMH environments.

You will work with pupils needing additional support to engage with learning, build relationships and reach their potential, in a rewarding role that values resilience and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults is desirable.
• A patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Access to a vehicle and a valid driving licence is essential.
• Team Teach or behaviour management training is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assisting students with a variety of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Supporting classroom teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
• Following safeguarding and behaviour management procedures at all times.
