SEN Science Teacher
Location: Medway
Salary: £130 – £250 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Term 6 (June 2025)
Contract Type: Maternity Cover (Terms 6 and 1), Full-time

Are you a passionate SEN Science Teacher with experience working with students on the autism spectrum? GSL Education Kent are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Science Teacher to join a specialist SEN setting in Medway for a full-time maternity cover starting in Term 6 and continuing through Term 1.

This outstanding SEN school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where students with autism and associated needs can thrive. With a strong emphasis on personalised learning and student well-being, the school offers a supportive community for staff and pupils alike. As an SEN Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and accessible science lessons that meet the unique needs of your learners.

As an SEN Teacher of Science, your role will include:
• Planning and delivering differentiated Science lessons tailored to students with ASD.
• Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that supports communication, sensory regulation, and emotional well-being.
• Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including SENCOs, therapists, and teaching assistants.
• Using strategies and resources to support students' academic and personal development.
• Providing consistent routines and positive reinforcement to support student engagement.

To be considered for the SEN Science Teacher role, you must:
• Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications.
• Have proven experience working in SEN settings, particularly with learners on the autism spectrum.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusive teaching practices.
• Be confident in planning and adapting lessons to suit individual learning styles and needs.
• Be available for a full-time maternity cover starting in Term 6.
