Job Title: Secondary SEN Science Teacher

Location: The Tower School, Epping, Essex, CM16 4BA

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Secondary SEN Science Teacher to join our close-knit team at The Tower School located in Epping.

Job Purpose

To provide a high quality education service for our students in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices and the standards set by the Regulatory Body

Key Task Areas and Responsibilities

  • To plan, deliver and teach individual students or small groups, in accordance with the School’s Curriculum framework and related policies
  • To monitor, record and report on student progress
  • To contribute to and help implement developments that relate to the School Development Plan
  • To promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational and moral development of the students
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of an environment and programme of learning for the individual student to ensure progression at an appropriate and satisfactory rat
  • To take responsibility for coordinating the teaching, development, assessment, recording and reporting of subjects and areas of learning across key stages as agreed with the Headteacher
  • To devise, implement and review individual education plans, individual behaviour plans and other relevant individual plans in conjunction with other staff
  • To organise the classroom, its resources, student groupings and displays to provide a stimulating learning situation appropriate for students
  • Adequately plan to ensure the safety of students, in line with risk assessments, while both on and off site
  • To ensure Learning Support Assistants/Tutors/Instructors and care staff (where necessary) are well briefed and able to produce appropriate and effective resources/teaching aids

Required

  • The successful candidate may be required to teach other subjects in line with operation need, e.g. Mathematics
  • UK QTS
  • Previous SEN experience (highly desirable)

About the school

The Tower School is an independent special day school for pupils ages 11 – 18 years who have a primary diagnosis of Autism. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who will often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

This opportunity is based in Epping, Essex, CM16 4BA and is located on Epping High Road within easy access of J26 of the M25 and Junction 5 of the M11. Epping is a lovely market town in Essex and just 17 miles (30km) from the centre of London. It is surrounded by Epping Forest and the River Roding and River Lea valleys. The school is just a 10-minute walk from Epping station on the London Undergrounds central line which will have you in London’s West End in under 50 minutes.
