Prospero Teaching are recruiting for a Sports Coach to work at a specialist High school in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

The school is for children aged 5-16 years old with moderate and complex learning difficulties, ASD and those with trauma informed behavioural difficulties. Students attending receive a tailored curriculum best suited to their needs and ability and the school offers a fantastic approach to learning.

The role of a sports coach will be to assist the teachers in PE & outdoor activities, Horticulture and class excursions. You may have the responsibility of taking small groups and planning sessions for those groups. Alternatively, you may be asked to support students within the classroom settings too.

The school are looking for someone who is confident, dedicated and excels with working with children.

The role will consist of:

  • Providing tailored support with working with children and SEN
  • Creating a safe environment that allows children to have fun, learn and succeed
  • Academic support 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting the teacher

The ideal candidate:

  • Someone who can demonstrate the necessary nurturing qualities required to work closely with SEN children
  • Ideally with previous experience caring for those with additional needs
  • Teaching Assistant qualification is ideal but not essential
  • Position – School Sports Coach
  • Contract Type – Temporary
  • Minimum Daily Rate of pay – £85+
  • Hours – 30am – (Term Time only) Monday – Friday
  • Start Date – ASAP
