Job summary

Westfield Arts College in Dorset is seeking casual Midday Supervisors to supervise and support children with a range of needs during lunch, in the hall and on the playground.

The role is term-time only, 11.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday (11.40am to 1.55pm). The successful candidate will join a supportive team, receive ongoing training in therapeutic approaches and SEND pedagogy, and help nurture pupils’ confidence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or training to support children with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Use therapeutic approaches to understand and support behaviour.
• Excellent communication and relational skills with children, young people and colleagues.
• Be creative and draw on a range of skills to meet diverse needs.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and to contributing positively to the school’s ethos.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support children during lunch in the hall and on the playground.
