A leading educational agency is looking for a passionate Primary SEMH Teacher in Lichfield. In this full-time role, you will support KS1 and KS2 students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges, helping them reconnect with learning and build self-esteem. Are you a dedicated and empathetic primary teacher with a passion for supporting children facing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges? Academics is working in partnership with a supportive SEMH provision in Lichfield to appoint a Primary SEMH Teacher who can inspire, engage, and nurture pupils through their educational and emotional development.
The Opportunity:
This full-time teaching role involves delivering an adapted and creative curriculum for KS1 and KS2 learners who require additional behavioral and emotional support. You'll be helping pupils to reconnect with learning, build self-esteem, and achieve progress both inside and outside the classroom.
You will join a skilled and compassionate team dedicated to trauma-informed and child-centred practices, where collaboration and consistency are key.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
* Planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning and emotional needs.
* Maintaining a calm, structured classroom that promotes safety, trust, and inclusivity.
* Working closely with teaching assistants, SEND professionals, and external support agencies.
* Setting clear expectations, managing behaviour positively, and supporting individual EHCPs.
* Tracking pupil progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
What We're Looking For:
* A qualified teacher (QTS) with a commitment to inclusive and therapeutic approaches.
* Experience working within SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision is advantageous.
* Skilled in behaviour management and emotionally responsive teaching.
* Someone who demonstrates resilience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young people thrive.
* Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
