Job summary

Connex Education are recruiting a dedicated SEN Practitioner – Primary Education Support to work across a range of primary schools in Yeovil and surrounding areas, including Sherborne and South Petherton. The role is to support pupils with additional needs and deliver targeted interventions starting September 2026.

You will collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to plan inclusive learning, manage emotions and behaviour, and help pupils access learning in a nurturing,

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged children, SEN experience desirable.
• Calm, patient and supportive approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to adapt learning and behaviour strategies to individual needs.
• Genuine commitment to inclusion and child development.
• Team player who can work closely with teachers and SEN professionals.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs in primary settings.
• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions.
• Assist with planning and adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
• Encourage communication, independence, and engagement in learning.
• Help maintain a calm, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
