About the Role:

As a SEN PE Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the PE department and SEN team, supporting pupils with a range of learning needs to access, enjoy, and thrive in physical education.

Responsibilities:

• Support the planning and delivery of PE lessons for students with additional needs
• Provide 1:1 and small group support during lessons, adapting activities where needed
• Encourage participation, build confidence, and promote physical and emotional well-being
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
• Assist with organising inclusive sporting events and extracurricular clubs

Requirements:

• Passionate about working with children and young people with SEN
• Enthusiastic about sport, health, and physical activity
• Patient, adaptable, and confident in managing behaviour positively
• A strong communicator and team player
• Experienced in working in a school or care setting (desirable, but not essential)
• Qualified in First Aid or willing to train (desirable)
• A supportive and inclusive school community
