Job description

SEN PE Teacher (Non-Qualified) required at Woodside School in Loughborough, Leicestershire

Woodside Group - Charley Road, Leicestershire

Position: SEN PE Teacher (Non-Qualified)
Type: Full-time and Permanent, Term Time Only
Salary: £21,940 to £24,071 (actual salary)
Start Date: As soon as possible

At Woodside, we specialise in educating young people with an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team and work in our wonderful school with our exceptional students and staff.

Your New Role:

We currently have an opportunity to join our team as an unqualified teacher of SEN, teaching and delivering physical education in our unique outdoor setting to students aged 11-19. This role is based in our growing Leicestershire setting near Loughborough, on a full-time, permanent basis.

We're looking for a passionate individual with experience in helping develop children in line with their academic and pastoral targets.

The successful candidate will deliver small group sessions at a base specifically crafted for a small group of students. This environment fosters a nurturing, 'homely' feeling, enabling us to engage students emotionally and provide the best educational experience. We need practitioners who can build trusting relationships, provide security to vulnerable learners, communicate clearly and confidently, and demonstrate resilience under pressure.

Outdoor learning is central to our provision. The appointed candidate should advocate for outdoor learning, incorporating it into lessons whenever possible. They will support pupils in processing new information, building on a solid understanding of each student's manifestation of autism.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions.

Working Hours:
  • Monday - Friday (08:30 am - 3:30 pm)
  • Term Time Only, 190 contact days
  • 5 inset days
About The Woodside Group:

The Woodside Group aims to provide a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment where children with ASC can find enjoyment and happiness while accessing individual timetables. We support pupils aged 11-19 with the goal that each student reaches their full potential academically or vocationally, with a clear pathway to independence after leaving our provision.

We are a growing community with specialist sites in Leicestershire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire, with plans for expansion. Some of our provisions have recently been rated OFSTED Outstanding.

We believe in putting each individual at the centre of their learning journey, creating a unique and fulfilling experience that promotes independence, lifelong learning, and achievement without limits. If you're inspired to join the Woodside team, we welcome visits and conversations about the role.
