Job summary

An educational support organization in the UK is seeking a KS1 - KS4 Tutor to deliver individualized Maths and English support for students not currently accessing mainstream education. The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status and have experience working with SEND students. This role involves assessing students' abilities and supporting their educational journey in informal settings.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.
  • UK classroom teaching experience is preferred.
  • Must hold an enhanced child DBS certificate.

Overview

Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils and SEND teams throughout the UK. We provide educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with SEND.

We are currently looking for a Tutor with Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent to provide KS1-KS4 Maths and English support on a 1:1 basis who is not currently accessing mainstream education.

Responsibilities
  • Assess students’ current ability and reintroduce education into their routine while a suitable school provision is found.
  • Deliver KS1-KS4 Maths and English support on a 1:1 basis.
  • Provide instruction and support in a home or local library setting.
Position Details
  • Position: KS1 - KS4 Tutor
  • Hours: 10-15 hours a week (during the school day)
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • QTS or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
  • UK classroom teaching experience
  • Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
Eligibility
  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references
