Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an SEN Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 education packages to young people not currently attending school. You will plan and deliver tailored lessons to bridge gaps, reengage learners, and build confidence, under close progression monitoring with Prospero Teaching.

The role can be part-time or full-time depending on availability, with a minimum pay rate of £25 per hour. Location is Kirkby, and safeguarding training completed in the last year is preferred.

Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent.
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school.
• Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year.

Job description

Prospero Teaching is looking for an SEN Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke education packages on a 1:1 basis to young people that are not attending school.

As an Outreach Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in pupil's education and boost engagement and attainment levels. This opportunity is great for an experienced teacher who is looking to step away from the classroom to offer more personalised, enjoyable lessons.

Most of these pupils will have been out of education for some time, so their confidence levels may be very low. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine.

Prospero Teaching will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil and support effective learning.

• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on availability
• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 25 per hour. Salary/daily/hourly rate will be in line with professional pay scales where these are available or based on experience if they are not available.
• Hours - Working hours can differentiate, minimum 1 hour per session and a maximum of 3 hours per session

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
