Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 education to young people not attending school. You will plan and deliver tailored lessons to re-engage learners and raise attainment in a supportive, flexible setting.

This contract role offers opportunities to work part-time or full-time, with sessions typically ranging from one to three hours. Experience in UK schools and safeguarding training are desirable, and you must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent.
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school.
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential).

Job description

Prospero Teaching is looking for an SEN Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke education packages on a 1:1 basis to young people that are not attending school.

As an Outreach Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in pupil's education and boost engagement and attainment levels. This opportunity is great for an experienced teacher who is looking to step away from the classroom to offer more personalised, enjoyable lessons.

Most of these pupils will have been out of education for some time, so their confidence levels may be very low. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine.

Prospero Teaching will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil and support effective learning.

• Position - SEN Outreach Tutor

• Duration / Likely Duration - dependent on each student

• Contract type - Temporary
• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on availability
• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 25 per hour. Salary/daily/hourly rate will be in line with professional pay scales where these are available or based on experience if they are not available.
• Hours - Working hours can differentiate, minimum 1 hour per session and a maximum of 3 hours per session

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
