A leading education company is seeking a dedicated SEN Outreach Tutor to provide tailored lessons for students with complex educational needs. This contract role involves boosting engagement and confidence in students who have been out of education, ensuring they receive structured support. The ideal candidate will be ABA trained and have experience working with SEN students, promoting learning through personalized strategies.

Qualifications

• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school.
• 12 months+ experience working with SEN students.
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year.

As a SEN Outreach Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in pupil’s education and boost engagement and attainment levels. .

These pupils may have complex SEN needs, be SEMH pupils, display challenging behaviour and/ or may require 2:1 support. They have been out of education for some time, so their confidence levels are very low. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine. As well as teach them new skills, implement strategies for work and break down tasks. These young people are SEN students with developmental needs so a tutor who is able to provide communication and language support is essential.

Prospero Teaching will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil and support effective learning.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

• Location – Havering
• Position – SEN Outreach Tutor
• Type of work – Contract
• Duration / Likely Duration – Until the end of the academic year
• End date (if applicable) – N/A
• Minimum rate of pay – Minimum rate £22 per hour
• Hours – Up to 15 hours a week, 3 hours a day – Monday – Friday

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• ABA Trained, QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school
• 12 months + experience working with SEN students
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
