Job summary

Gumtree seeks a SEN Nanny or Manny in Wokingham to support Tim, an eight-year-old non-verbal autistic boy with ADHD who loves animals and outdoor adventures. Role includes after-school hours and a weekend day, with live-out or live-in options.

You will provide calm, engaging care, encourage communication, and support emotional regulation while supervising activities like swimming and climbing. A driver with an automatic car is on duty.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting autistic children.
• Desirable: AAC, Makaton, letterboard communication, and positive support for dysregulation.
• Driver's license required; automatic family car on duty.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, engaging support for Tim and promote communication.
• Help with emotional regulation and calming strategies.
• Enable outdoor adventures (swimming, climbing, horse riding).
• Accompany Tim during after-school hours per term-time schedule.

SEN Nanny or Manny, Wokingham, RG40. £20.00 gross per hour on weekdays, £22.00 gross per hour on weekends. Fantastic opportunity to support Tim, an energetic eight-year-old autistic boy with ADHD who loves animals, outdoor adventures, and keeping busy.

Key Information

• Job Title: SEN Nanny or Manny
• Pay: £20.00 gross per hour weekdays; £22.00 gross per hour weekends
• Location: Wokingham, RG40
• Start Date: As soon as possible
• Hours and Days of Work: Three or four weekdays plus one weekend day. Monday and Tuesday essential. Term-time: 02:45 PM-08:00 PM weekdays; 10:00 AM-04:00 PM weekends. School holidays: 10:00 AM-04:00 PM
• Essential Experience: Experience supporting autistic children
• Desirable: Experience with AAC, Makaton, letterboard communication and positive support for dysregulation
• Driver Required: Yes, automatic family car available on duty
• Family Pets: Two cats
• Accommodation: Live-out or live-in; private room with en-suite bathroom if required

Tim, 8, is non-verbal, sensory-seeking, and always on the go. He needs a calm, confident SEN Nanny or Manny to provide safe, engaging support, encourage communication, and help with emotional regulation.
