An established industry player is seeking dedicated SEN Tutors to support learners in Surrey. Join Our Team as a SEN KS1-4 Mentor in Surrey (GU7)!

Are you ready to embark on a fulfilling journey in SEN Tutoring? Young Giants is currently seeking passionate SEN Tutors to support learners in the Surrey area. The tuition provision is in-person as one-to-one sessions. These take place in the learner's home setting or a venue within the community. Young Giants is a holistic and inclusive term-time tuition and mentoring service, providing an alternative education provision supporting children who are temporarily out of school, as day time one-to-one tuition and mentoring.

As a managed education service, we remain responsible for the management and quality of education provided to each of our learners. Founded and run by qualified teachers, we work closely alongside our tutors in assessing and maintaining effective needs-based programmes of education support.

Your Role at Young Giants:

As a SEN Tutor you will play a crucial role in delivering a bespoke educational plan in an engaging and meaningful way. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Deliver KS1-4 Maths and English sessions with additional subjects according to your specialism.
  2. Ability to provide a creative learning approach; incorporating a variety of activities based on the learners' interests to aid learning engagement.
  3. Ability to offer support as a mentor with life skills and facilitate preparation for adulthood; college applications, employability.
  4. Demonstrate confidence and knowledge supporting children with SEND.
  5. Adhere to consistent fixed termly timetables with scheduled lesson times.

You offer Young Giants:

  1. Dedication to the overall academic development of the learners and support re-engagement in learning.
  2. Commitment to fixed termly timetables and ensuring lessons run as scheduled to provide a predictable and reliable provision which the learner deserves.
  3. Understand it hasn't always been an easy path travelled to this point for our learners, compassion and empathy are key.
  4. Minimum Bachelor's Degree or strong youth work experience/qualification.
  5. Minimum 2 years teaching or mentoring SEN learners including ASD/ASC, ADHD & SEMH within SEND schools, youth groups or private settings.
  6. Enhanced DBS on the DBS Update system or self fund the fee of £65.50.
  7. Competent understanding of safeguarding and uphold mandatory training.
  8. Ability to travel to outlined location.

What Young Giants offer:

  1. Hourly Pay Rate: £30.00 - £40.00
  2. Weekly hours: Various Part time hours on a self employed / PAYE basis.
  3. Travel contribution: £7 to each learner's location.

  6. Typical sessions: These will vary but tend to be during a typical 'school day'.
