Job summary

GSL Education are recruiting for Mental Health Support Workers to start ASAP in Redditch. Full-time and temp-perm roles with a day rate of £90–£100.

You will support the class teacher, support staff and multi-agency teams to devise learning and care plans and help students aged 10-19 with SEN and mental health needs. Ideal candidates will set clear boundaries, manage triggers of challenging behaviour and support pupils academically, emotionally and socially, including those with complex sensory

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a support setting is desirable.
• Experience with challenging behaviour in education, secure, residential or support settings.
• Knowledge and experience writing reports.
• Clear Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (we can assist with new application).
• Team Teach, MAPPA, NAPPI or Pillars training is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher, support staff and multi-agency teams to devise learning and care plans.
• Encourage pupils aged 10-19 with SEN to reach their full potential.
• Set clear boundaries and manage triggers of challenging behaviour while supporting academically, emotionally and socially.
