At Woodside, we specialise in educating young people with an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team and work in our wonderful school with our exceptional students and staff.
We are currently looking to appoint a SEN Maths Teacher to join our team at our outdoor setting for students aged 11-19 in Leicestershire, near Loughborough. This is a full-time, permanent position.
We seek a passionate individual experienced in developing children in line with academic and pastoral targets. The successful candidate will deliver group sessions in a setting designed to foster a 'homely' environment, nurturing students emotionally and academically. Building trusting relationships and providing security to vulnerable learners are essential, along with clear communication, confidence, and resilience under pressure.
Outdoor learning is central to our approach. The appointed teacher should advocate for outdoor learning and incorporate it into lessons. Responsibilities include supporting pupils in processing new information based on a solid understanding of autism manifestation.
Minimum 2 years' experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions and at least 1 year as a teacher.
Our mission is to provide a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment where children with ASC can find enjoyment and happiness while accessing personalized timetables. We support pupils aged 11-19 and aim for each student to reach their full potential, whether academic or vocational, with pathways to independent living post-19.
