Job summary

Prospero Teaching is helping to recruit a Lunchtime Supervisor for a SEN school in Croydon. The role is part‑time (approx. 11:30AM–1:30PM, Monday to Friday) with a daily rate of £30–£40.

You will support pupils with special educational needs during lunch, ensuring safety and positive social interaction. The ideal candidate is patient, calm under pressure and dedicated to making a difference during the busiest part of the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people (school‑based experience is a plus but not essential)
• A calm, caring and patient nature
• A proactive and reliable attitude
• An understanding of or willingness to learn about supporting pupils with SEN
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through us)

Responsibilities

• Supervising children during the lunchtime period in both the dining hall and playground
• Supporting pupils with additional needs to ensure a safe and positive lunchtime experience
• Encouraging inclusive play and positive social interactions
• Assisting with any lunchtime routines, including feeding and mobility support where needed
• Working collaboratively with school staff to manage behaviour and ensure pupil wellbeing
