Job summary

Fresh Start In Education Ltd is seeking a SEN Learning Support Practitioner in Norwich on a flexible, bank staff contract. You will provide 1:1 or 2:1 support in homes or suitable settings, tailoring sessions to each learner's needs.

You'll monitor progress, report outcomes, and ensure safeguarding. The role offers hourly pay of £25–£36 and travel subsidy plus resource allowance, with term-time only sessions.

Qualifications

• Experience of at least 1 year supporting children and young people with SEN/SEMH.
• Background in Primary, Secondary or Post-16 settings is beneficial.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection best practices.
• Able to commit to 2 consistent weekdays.

We're currently looking for Education Specialists in Norwich and surrounding areas to join our team in providing bespoke and holistic support to children and young people who are out of mainstream education. If you’re passionate about supporting learners with SEND and want a role where every day makes a difference, we would love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing 1:1 or 2:1 support to children and young people in their homes or a suitable public setting
• Delivering personalised, creative sessions that reflect each learner’s needs, interests and abilities
• Monitoring and reporting on student progress after each session and setting clear, achievable targets to support ongoing development
• Conducting risk assessments and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed
• Working flexibly (on a bank staff contract) and term-time only, with sessions typically lasting 3 to 5 hours during the school day

Who we’re looking for

• Education professionals with at least one year experience supporting children and young people with SEN and SEMH needs
• Those from Primary, Secondary or Post-16 backgrounds, including specialist SEND settings
• Individuals with a minimum of 2 consistent weekdays of availability
• Professionals with up-to-date understanding of safeguarding and child protection
