Job summary

Learn Academies Trust is seeking a Part-time Learning Support Assistant to work under a teacher’s supervision, supporting SEN pupils and assisting classroom activities. The role involves 1:1 support, small group work, and helping deliver planned lessons in line with school policies.

A key focus is safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare. Practical experience with children, good literacy and numeracy, and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
• Experience working with children.
• Good literacy and numeracy.
• Willing to learn and take on tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support and assist learning activities.
• Support planned whole class activities and small groups.
• Prepare, monitor and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Observe pupil progress and feedback to the teacher.
• Support development of numeracy and literacy across the curriculum.
• Interact positively with children, staff and adults.
• Develop positive relationships with colleagues and contribute to a team environment.
• Utilise ICT resources to support pupil learning.
